Bridgestone JGR CB Forged Irons - New Addition to JGR Family

Bridgestone Golf launched the JGR line of clubs in 2016 with the goal of making the game of golf easier and more enjoyable for golfers with mid-to-higher handicaps. The line consisted of an extremely popular JGR 460cc driver with a first-of-its-kind milled face that produced the ultimate combination of low spin distance and added forgiveness from off-center hits.

The JGR Fairway wood and Hybrid are built on the same principle as the driver including the flexible crown, stiff sole, and speeDARC technology to increase launch angles and distance.

Finally, the JGR line included Bridgestone's first and only set of Super Game Improvement irons - The JGR Hybrid Forged Irons. The JGR Hybrid Forged Irons have the Lowest & Deepest CoG of any forged iron on the market which allows for easy to hit, high launching distances.

The new JGR CB Forged Iron set provides a perfect blend of forgiveness and control in a more traditional and compact shape. Unlike the JGR Hybrid Forged Irons, the new JGR CB Forged set has a much narrower sole and derives its forgiveness through a 1-piece forged steel head with a slight offfset and a centered mass in the rear cavity for a deeper center of gravity.

Compared to Bridgestone’s  more traditional looking J15CB irons, the increased efforts to create more forgiveness in the JGR Cavity Back set yields a four percent increase in what Bridgestone’s engineers call “the hitting area,” or the region of the face that produces the highest ball speeds.  It also has a deeper undercut cavity and 75% more offset and a lower center of gravity which produces solid feeling, easy launching distance.

The new JGR CB Forged Iron set is perfect for the golfer that still prefers a more traditional looking iron set yet still would benefit from all the latest features that will make the iron set easier to hit and the the game of golf more enjoyable!

The seven-piece set (5-iron through gap wedge) comes standard with True Temper’s XP 95 shaft. It will be available Nov. 1 ($900).
