TaylorMade's New Daddy Long Legs Spider Putter - A Great Substitute For Anchored Putters

TaylorMade's first spider putter was released in 2008 and since then has become one of  their most popular putter lines for both professional and amateur golfers alike.  The unique looks of the putter were one thing but the performance was where it really shined.  The spider putters always claimed to have a very high MOI which is the resistance to twisting of the club face on off center hits.

Now with the release of the ultra-high MOI  Daddy Long Legs Spider putter, TaylorMade is taking things to another level.

"The goal for Daddy Long Legs was to create the most stable putter we possibly could," says Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade's product creation manager. "To this point, that's what Spider has stood for. It's a very complicated design, with the pieces all working together to create high MOI in the head. Daddy Long Legs is an extreme version of that. It has 16 different pieces and uses eight different materials, all to get the most stable putter head possible."

The measured MOI for the new Daddy Long Legs putter comes in at 8500 which is 2000 units more than the original Spider putters.

But club face MOI is just one of the types of stability the new Daddy Long Legs offers.  The grip of the putter has been lengthened to 15 inches and is weighted to counterbalance the 395 grams of weight in the club head.   This stabilizes the putter stroke almost to the point where you have to force the putter off the intended stoke line.

For those golfers who want to wean themselves away from an anchored belly or long putter the Daddy Long Legs is your answer.  The high MOI and counter-balance weighted putter give it anchor-like feel and results without being (soon to be) illegally anchored to the body.

To get the most out of counterbalancing, about three inches of the top end of the grip should extend above your top had when you assume your normal grip, posture and stance.  To make that possible, the Daddy Long Legs are offered in two lengths: 38" for players who currently use a normal 35" putter, and 35" for players who currently use a 33" length normal putter.  Players who currently use a 34" putter can choose between either the 35" or 38 Daddy Long Legs Putter.

The new TaylorMade Daddy Long Legs Putter is available now at Great Golf Deals.com for $189.99.  For a limited time, use the code 'FREESHIP' to get free shipping on this putter.
